Trash Removal

IMG_2031.jpg

New Trash Service as of 17 November 2021: We have switched our trash disposal vendor to Amber's Disposal. Pick-ups will be once each week -- Tuesday -- using a single (blue) container placed at the curb as has been the past practice. Click to view the informational flyer from Amber's Disposal.

Amber's Holiday & Inclement Weather Schedule 2025

  • Trash and recyclable materials are comingled and processed through a single stream recycling system to generate electricity and recyclable metals. For more information, please visit the COVANTA website.

All containers (totes) are serial numbered and have been associated with your house number in a master list. We recommend you place your house number on the container so that they do not get mixed up at the curb. DO NOT SPRAY PAINT or USE PERMANENT MARKERS. Use peel-and-stick numbers or heavy duty tape.

  • HOLIDAYS: no pick-up of regular trash or recycling on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. If a scheduled pick-up falls on a holiday, pick-up will occur on the next weekday.

  • INCLEMENT WEATHER (snow/ice/hurricane): if TUESDAY pickups are missed due to inclement weather, pick-up will resume as soon as practicable. Unless there is a high-wind condition, leave your container at the curb until picked up. In high wind conditions, please retrieve and protect your container from toppling over and having your trash scattered by the wind.

All trash/recycling must be in containers. No yard waste (leaves, brush, sticks). Retrieve emptied containers promptly.

  • DO NOT PUT HAZARDOUS WASTE OR FIREPLACE ASHES IN THE CONTAINERS.
